Harbin Ice and Snow World is located the north shore of the Songhua River, near to Harbin Sun Island Tourist Scenic Spots. Covering an area of 800,000 square meters, it is a large comprehensive amusement park, combining ice cartoon, themed snow performances, acrobatics on ice, ice sculpture exhibition and many other art and culture activities.
The best time to visit Harbin Ice and Snow World is from the annual Christmas to the beginning of March next year, when is winter season in the Harbin. You can enjoy the beautiful view of ice sculptures, snow sculptures, ice castle, etc., which is extremely beautiful, especially when all the colored lights are on at night. It would be definitely a visual feast.
You can also enjoy various snow entertainment activities, such as ice slide, ice rock climbing, icy castle mazes, snow fighting, snow football, ice shuffleboard on ice and so on. You can also play ice bikes, snow go-karts, snowmobiles, ski skating, etc., and even snow CS, snow football, ice tug of war and other exiting activities. Most of the projects inside are included in the entrances, and you do not have to pay extra fee for these.
It is suggested to get into the Harbin Ice and Snow World at three or four o'clock in the afternoon, and then have fun playing games or taking part of the ice and snow activities inside. When darkness falls and all the colorful lights are on, the Ice and Snow World will look extremely beautiful. If possible, try to avoid traveling in the Spring Festival and the weekends, when there will be quite a lot of tourists and it likely to lead to spend hours for queuing. Staying in the park for a long time will be very cold, so be sure to wear warm clothing.

Ticket Price for Harbin Ice and Snow World:
The ticket price for Harbin Ice and Snow World has varied in recent years. In 2021, the ticket price was RMB 100 per person, a significant reduction from the previous price of RMB 330 per person.
Ticket Conditions:
Children under 1.2 meters (including 1.2 meters) can enter for free.
Harbin residents with a valid Harbin ID card are eligible for a discount.
Local senior citizens aged 60 and above, with either a Harbin Identity Card or the "Senior Citizen Card," can enter for free.
Foreign tourists and Chinese tourists aged 70 or older, with valid ID or passport, also enter for free.
Important Note:
Harbin residents can only visit the park on Mondays, excluding public holidays. This rule applies to all residents living in the 8 districts and 10 counties of Harbin.
The origins of Harbin Ice and Snow World trace back to the city's hosting of the Third Asian Winter Games in 1999. To create an icy atmosphere for the games and showcase the charm of the “Ice City” to Asia, the municipal government built the first ice and snow theme park on the banks of the Songhua River. Centered around large-scale ice and snow sculptures, the 200,000-square-meter park attracted over a million visitors that year. Due to its overwhelming popularity after the Asian Winter Games, it was officially transformed into a regular annual event.
In its subsequent development, the Ice and Snow World gradually evolved from a single-purpose scenic attraction. It no longer confined itself to ice and snow sculpture displays but adopted annual thematic concepts integrating historical, folk, and international elements. Interactive attractions like ice slides, snowmobile rides, light shows, and live performances were added, while production techniques incorporated modern technologies such as 3D modeling. Expanding to over 400,000 square meters, it evolved from a place to “view ice and snow” into an immersive “play ice and snow” wonderland.
Today, the Ice and Snow World has become Harbin's city emblem and a world-class ice and snow IP. It carries forward Harbin's century-old ice and snow folk traditions while fulfilling the mission of cultural outreach and ice-snow economic development. Attracting over ten million global visitors annually, it drives related industries like catering, accommodation, and transportation. From its origins as a supporting event for the Asian Winter Games, it has evolved into a core festival showcasing China's winter charm.
