The best time to travel in Jiangsu is in spring and autumn, especially the August, September and October.

 

Travel to Jiangsu in Spring

The temperature of spring in Jiangsu changes a lot. The average temperature in the whole province is about 14.9℃.
 

Jiming Temple in Nanjing

In spring, the cherry blossoms near the Jiming Temple is beautiful and attractive, attracting many tourists to visit the Jiming Temple. And you can also have a panoramic view of the Jiming Temple and the cherry blossom at the Nanjing City Wall(Jiefang Gate). Also, you can have a panoramic view of the Xuanwu Lake at the Jiefang Gate. At this gate of Nanjing City Wall, you can see the ancient temple, modern skyscraper(Zifeng Tower) and the picturesque Xuanwu Lake at the same time.  
 

Yuantouzhu in Wuxi

Famous poems one wrote poetry that spring is a good time to visit Yangzhou in Jiangsu Province. Spring is also an ideal time to visit the classical gardens in Jiangsu. There are many famous classical gardens in Jiangsu, especially Suzhou. Boasting Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove, Canglang Pavilion, Lingering Garden, Garden of Master of Nets and Tuisi Garden, there are many classical Chinese gardens in the south of Yangtze River. Among them, the classical gardens are most famous and typical in Suzhou. In spring, the plants are lush in the classical Chinese gardens with the colorful flowers, making the classical gardens more charming.


Liyuan Garden (Wuxi): noted for its fantastic water view, its landscaped section of hills and rocky paths is flanked by a further two areas where pavilions, corridors and rockeries have been built and carefully planted with fragrant blossoming plants.

Humble Administrator Garden (Suzhou): the best representation of Chinese classical gardens of the Ming Dynasty. Its design is duplicated in many gardens throughout China, and there is even a replica in the New York Metropolitan Museum.


 

Travel to Jiangsu in Summer

Summer in Jiangsu is a little long. July is the hottest month; its average temperature is about 26~28.8℃.

Tiger Hill (Suzhou): it enjoys a reputation as 'the first scenic spot in the State of Wu', for Suzhou was once the capital of the State of Wu during the Spring and Autumn Period.


 

Travel to Jiangsu in Winter

Winter is cold and long in Jiangsu. January is the coldest month; its average temperature is about -1.0℃~3.3℃.
 

In winter, you can enjoy the plum blossoms in Jiangsu. You can see the plum blossoms in Plum Garden in Wuxi, classical gardens in Suzhou and parks in Jiangsu Province.
 

If it snows, the whole Jiangsu is amazing and beautiful. The Pingjiang Road and Shantang Street are beautiful when they are covered by snow with the typical water town view. The Zhongshan Mountain National Park is pure when it is covered by snow for the Purple Mountain, Meiling Palace, Ming Tomb, etc. The classical Chinese gardens are all beautiful when they are covered by snow. The Nanjing City Wall is more beautiful when it is covered by snow. Xuanwu Lake and Mochou Lake are also picturesque when snowy.

Confucius Temple (Nanjing): it is for people to worship Confucius, the great thinker and educator in ancient China. Now it is one of the bustling areas in Nanjing with the East and West markets.

Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum (Nanjing): the tomb of the Hongwu Emperor, the founder of the Ming Dynasty. It embodies the ancient Chinese philosophic thinking of "unity of humans and the universe".

•The temperature changes a lot in the daytime and night, tourists should bring enough clothes to avoid catching cold.

•If you are going to visit the water towns or Suzhou gardens, you'd better not choose Tomb-sweeping Day, two-day weekend, Chinese festivals and holidays; you can truly experience the unique charm of this ancient city Suzhou with little tourists.
