Yarlung Zangbo River, the world highest river, turns south suddenly in Mainling County and cuts the Himalayas Mountain into two sections. Taohua Island, formerly Yusong Island, is an island in the middle of the river at the beginning of Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, which is formed by the accumulation of water, waves and river sand, covering an area of about 160 mu and a length of 720 meters. It is the only small island in Milin, where you can get close to Yarlung Zangbo River. It is also the best place to view the river and snow-capped mountains.
To get to the Taohua Island, you can take boat at the Paizhen Wharf. On the way to the Taohua Island, you can look up at the deep and magnificent Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, and you can also see the reflection of the Namcha Barwa Peak on the river.
After getting to the island, you can hike around the island on the plank road about 1.4 kilometers back and forth. Nalacuo hiking route is the most classic hiking route in Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. Known as the "tears of Namcha Barwa", Nalacuo Lake is hidden in the deep valley between Namcha Barwa and Duoxiongla Snow Mountain, and it is also the end of this hiking route. Autumn is a good time to hike this route.

Suosong Village, located halfway up the north bank of Yarlung Zangbo River, is one of the most beautiful villages in China. It is adjacent to Namcha Barwa Peak in the south and Yarlung Zangbo River in the north which is one of the best places to view snow mountains and Yarlung Zangbo River.
Everything at Suosong Village is beautiful. Such as the sunrise and sunset at Namcha Barwa Peak, Yarlung Zangbo River under the vast Milky Way and forest-stained mountains and scattered village cottages. Standing on the land of Suosong Village, every picture you see is worthy of photographing.
If you like quietness and nature, you can visit the Dalin Village. Dalin means happy racecourse in Tibetan, where villagers plough and graze with the changes of the four seasons, and stay with Namcha Barwa Peak all day long.
Dalin Village retains the original ecological scene, which still maintains a quiet and lazy appearance. Autumn in Dalin Village is beautiful. If you arrive at the right time, you can also see the autumn harvest scene of local villagers.
The best time to visit Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is March to October with pleasant weather.
