One of the most beautiful glaciers in China with stunning scenery
In Yecheng County, Karakorum Mountains in Kashgar, Xinjiang, Tramukanli Glacier is known as the solid water tower. Tramukanli Glacier is one of the most beautiful glaciers in China. The ice peaks are spectacular, and the beautiful natural scenery is like a fairyland, attracting many explorers and photographers to visit.
Tramukanli Peak is close to Sichuan-Tibet Highway, with large scale and convenient transportation. It is a typical representative of marine glaciers in southeast Tibet. With typical features and complete types, it is famous for its beautiful arch-arc structure and is a rare natural wonder. Glaciers, lakes, farmland, villages and forests blend together here, which is a model of harmonious coexistence between man and nature and an excellent place for investigation and tourism.
Tramukanli Glacier is located at the foot of Tramukanli Peak(7,441 meters above sea level) in Karakorum Mountains. The glacier is more than 28 kilometers long, with an area of 124.53 square kilometers, the height of the end of the glacier is 4,520 meters and the height of the glacier snow line is 5,390 meters. Glacier ice has a net reserve of 26.774 cubic kilometers, which can be converted into 2.2758 billion cubic meters of water. It is a veritable "solid water tower".
The ice towers on the glacier form a series of ice peaks, which are very spectacular. Under the ice peaks, there are often ice lakes and blue waves. The ice surface in the upper section of glacier tongue is clean, and ice towers and various ice sculptures can be seen everywhere.
After leaving the Sichuan-Tibet Highway and crossing the newly-built highway bridge across the Egong Zangbu River, there is a canyon with cliffs on both sides, and only one car could pass through the village road built along the river.
A few kilometers later, a wide valley suddenly appeared. In the distance, two spectacular ice waterfalls hang between the snow peak and the forest, just like two huge screens falling from the sky.
If you want to get close to the Tramukanli Glacier, you have to walk into the forest where the forest is completely dyed and climb over glacial tills left by the glacier movements.
After crossing the glacial tills, an icy lake appeared. At the other end of the icy lake, there was a broken glacier tongue nearly two meters wide and up to ten meters high, which is really beautiful and impressive. The ice waterfall falling from the sky is amazing in the sun. The drop of nearly 800 meters is more amazing with cold wind blowing.
