Lingshan Grand Buddha is the spiritual point of Lingshan Grand Buddha Site, which stands on the south side of Lesser Lingshan region, Mashan Mountain, and it is one of the landmarks in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. During the Tang Dynasty, the famous Buddhism temple Xiangfu Temple was once built on the very place where the Buddha is located now. To protect the relic and promote the culture, people set up this magnificent 88-meter-high statue of Sakyamunisits right after the rebuilt temple.
Lingshan Grand Buddha Site locates in Taihu Lake Scenery Spot, covering an area of 30 hectares. The scenic sport is mainly consists of a 39.8 meters long screen wall, the totem-pole, the Xiangfu Temple and the grand Buddha statue.
From the parking lot, walking about 5 minutes you will reach a square with one big screen wall facing the gate, on which carved the Buddha with a serene look sit up straight on the lotus shaped seat, worshiped by Bodhisattva and Arhat. Round the screen wall and continue your walking, you will see a tall totem-pole. Go further, a grand temple lies on the half-way up the mountain, the grand Buddha just stands after and presents a self-possessed compassionate look.
The body of the Buddha is 79 meters high, stands on a 9 meters high lotus shaped seat. Its whole body is made of 1560 copper sheet of 6-8mm thick, gross weight of 700 ton, which can cover an area of 9,000 square meters.
Nine Dragons Bathing Sakyamuni
Nine Dragons Bathing Sakyamuni is sculpture including the statue of the Buddha, lotus and the fountain. When the music is on, the petals of the lotus will open, and the nine dragons will spray water to bath the Saykamuni on the center of the lotus. The water columns are high to more than 30 meters. The Nine Dragons Bathing Sakyamuni reappear the scene of the birth of the Buddha.
Brahma Palace
At the Brahma Palace, you can see the exquisite woodcarvings, oil paintings, murals of Dunhuang and coloured glaze.
Brahma Palace Square
The magnificent Brahma Place Square, and the floor was paved with marble. It is a large square, which can accommodate about 10,000 persons at the same time. Standing on the center of the Brahma Palace Square, you can see the golden Brahma Palace, white Flying Dragon Tower, green forest, blue lake and red Five Mudra Mandala.

The Largest Buddha Hand in the World is the copy of the right hand of the Lingshan Giant Buddha, whose size and shape are the same as the right hand of the statue of the Lingshan Giant Buddha. There is a small tea garden in the Lingshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area. The tea garden is located near the Lingshan Giant Buddha. It is said that the tea leaves from the tea garden of the Lingshan Scenic Area in Wuxi have high quality and nice fragrance.
